Director, Life Sciences

The Director, Life Sciences is responsible for growing and managing the company’s partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and ensuring that our jointly developed solutions reach as many patients as possible for the greatest impact. The ideal candidate will have deep subject matter knowledge and familiarity with the life sciences industry, as well as a passion for technology and an ability to work across diverse groups of stakeholders. In this role, you will work closely with TailorMed’s Head of Life Sciences both to nurture our existing commercial relationships and to develop new ones.

Responsibilities

  • Own the relationship with life sciences partners, understanding their strategic objectives, success metrics, and stakeholders
  • Develop and execute a growth plan for both existing pharma partners and those who are not yet partners 
  • Develop an account plan with each partner, including clear objectives and lines of accountability
  • Represent our partners’ needs internally and facilitate their relationships with the different TailorMed teams, especially Product and Operations
  • Act as a trusted advisor to life sciences partners, understanding the landscape of financial navigation and the ways we work with healthcare providers
  • Effectively demonstrate TailorMed’s technologies, bringing in subject matter experts to add support where necessary
  • Identify and quantify product feedback to assist in driving product strategy
  • Conduct (in-person or virtually) regular business reviews to strengthen relationships, review key performance metrics, and identify opportunities to grow the partnership
  • Support business development activities such as presentations to prospective partners and attending industry trade shows
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials for life sciences partners
  • Manage daily activity within Salesforce CRM system or other designated system(s)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience at a life sciences company, a vendor, or a consulting firm
  • Deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, especially in patient support services and other areas relevant to financial navigation
  • General understanding of software development concepts and an eagerness to learn more
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Natural curiosity and desire to creatively problem solve
  • Strong analytical skill set, with the ability to tell stories from data and roll up your sleeves to complete the analysis when needed
  • Ability to execute and prioritize a large number of tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and to lead cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s degree
