Augusta Oncology, now doing business as AO Multispecialty Clinic, is a physician-owned multi-specialty practice with four locations and 28 providers specializing in Medical Oncology, Hematology, Gynecological Oncology, Urogynecology, Rheumatology, Urology, and Plastic Surgery.
Augusta takes a coordinated team approach that supports patients clinically, financially, and emotionally throughout their treatment. To promote patient financial health, the practice has been offering financial assistance for over 15 years and has a dedicated team of experience navigators to guide patients through their journey. Prior to TailorMed, the financial navigation team primarily used a “pen and paper” approach for collecting patient information and enrolling them in funding opportunities. While this system worked, the Augusta team knew they could improve the process to serve and enroll even more patients.
As part of implementation, TailorMed did a thorough assessment of the team’s workflows to identify areas for optimization and efficiency, provided hands-on product training to the team and set performance goals. Augusta’s experienced team of financial navigators were well-positioned to put into practice the tools provided by TailorMed.
Augusta went live with TailorMed prepared to take on the annual peak season of insurance enrollment and the team surpassed the goals they set for first-month enrollments. In the first six months after deployment, the team had already surpassed 2020 patient funding, increasing enrollments by 108%.
